Yesterday, October 24th, I initiated a conversation with Jasen Shifflett (FalseErr0r) in regards to the Tier 5 Warlock he was selling for the dirt cheap price of $250. I was a bit cautious at first, inquiring where he received the account from (where he stated it was from a friend at school) and why he was selling for so cheap, whereupon he said it was because he transferred it to a fresh account due to the fact his 'friend' did not know the SQA, and not many people are interested in purchasing accounts where the transfer is not up. I had no reason not to trust Jasen since he only has positive feedback on both Markee and eBay, along with him being PayPal verified, and has been a registered user of these boards for over two years. Regardless, I was really interested in getting this Warlock due to its price and I overlooked this small inconvenience, so I promptly decided to purchase it. http://www.markeedragon.com/u/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=876653 So around 5:00, I had to run to the bank to transfer funds from my wife and I's joint bank account to my personal bank account since it is the bank account tied to my PayPal. However, due to a bank policy, I was only able to transfer over $125 that evening with the ability to complete the rest of the transaction the next day. Jasen stated this was O.K., and we decided upon me giving him $140 for just the account name and password, and the next day (or today, the 25th of October) I'd send the remaining funds for full access to the account. All went smoothly at first; I sent the $140 and he gave the appropriate information (it worked). I logged in, played a few BattleGrounds to get used to the character, and logged off to take care of a few things around the house. Unfortunately, I came back a few hours later to the dreaded "This account has been closed and is no longer available for use". To say the least, I was very unhappy and tried to get a hold of Jasen via AIM, but unfortunately he was not around. http://i20.[censored]/34qjwaw.jpg (t i nypic.com) Out of instinct, I scrammed to PayPal and issued a dispute in an attempt to get my money back. Regrettably, I gave false information to PayPal as they do not reimburse funds for virtual goods. I stated I did not receive the goods, and Jasen quickly responded saying it was a transaction for virtual goods and provided our AIM conversation as proof, essentially screwing over any chance I have at retrieving my funds. Earlier today I talked to him in regards to the situation, and he seemed to be bent more so on not getting the account back at all and keeping the money. I asked him to check his e-mail to see what grounds the ban was on, and he did, but he said he received no e-mail about this, only an e-mail confirming a canceled subscription. To be honest, I have a very hard time believing this. I've dealt with Blizzard on multiple occasions, and I know for a fact they will ALWAYS e-mail you in regards to an account's status, especially considering its an automated system. He said he would inquire to the Account Administration team why the account was banned, and he forwarded the e-mail to me. It was pretty pathetic, even e-mailing from an e-mail where the name was COMPLETELY different than the one tied to the Warcraft account. Perhaps I take these things more seriously, but I would have definitely put forth more effort in retrieving my account. Also, note exactly WHO he sent it to... "[email protected]". This is invalid. Blizzard uses "[email protected]" for these purposes. If he did in fact send an e-mail to that address, he would have received a Delivery Status Notification error from Gmail stating the e-mail address was invalid, and would have not forwarded it to me... So essentially, I am not in a good position at the moment. I've looked more into who exactly Jasen Shifflett is, and I've come to find he is a registered user of [censored] (m m owned.com), a common discussion forum of Warcraft exploits, programs, and scamming methods. I asked if this was his character, and he confirmed it was, but he said he had sold it a while back. If you check his posts, it seems he is pretty prominent in terms of account scamming. He even posted a little 'guide' on how to get a scammed account banned... hrmm. I believe the account he sold me was scammed, hence the reason he transferred it to another account. I believe the original owner recalled the account, in turn Blizzard suspended the account he had transferred the character to, and once proof was given to Blizzard of the original owner's status, transfered the character BACK to the original account. I've checked to see if the character (Deathrang, on Gorefiend) was still present on the armory, and alas, it isn't. I know for a fact that once Blizzard suspends an account, the character STILL remains on the Armory, and this is the only plausible explanation. I'm afraid I cannot provide concrete AIM log evidence, since I made the idiot mistake of not having the AIM function enabled on my laptop, but I feel the screenshots I provided may be sufficient.
